Murchison House Station
Murchison House Station is a working cattle station.
Offering half day tours of the Murchison House Station, one of the oldest and largest pastoral stations in Western Australia. Learn about the history of the past settlers, the station's cemetery which dates back to the 1850s, see the rugged outback country, wildflowers, wildlife and see the modern day station.
The station has over 60kms of rugged Indian Ocean shoreline and over 30kms of Murchison River floodplains. Because of the plentiful supply of water, with permanent springs and soaks and several year round creeks, wildlife is abundant.
Large flocks of birds abound, kangaroos and emus are plentiful and feral goats are everywhere.
The homestead is sited on the tranquil banks of the Murchison River, surrounded by hundreds of large river gum trees, just 13kms from Kalbarri town centre.
